4myschools are really proud to support all of our teachers and schools and are pleased to include Suffolk in the counties that we serve.

Introducing Alan Mansfield, Suffolk Secondary Consultant:

Due to expansion of the East Anglian Secondary Desks, 4myschools are pleased to introduce Alan Mansfield as the Suffolk Secondary Consultant. Alan is dedicated to supporting the Secondary Schools and teachers in this area.

Alan Mansfield been working for 4myschools for 3 years and has worked in Education Recruitment for over 5 years. He joined the company as a Primary School Consultant as part of our Essex Team, supporting primary schools with Supply Teachers and Support Staff and has also been providing a permanent recruitment service. Alan’s role within 4myschools has recently evolved as he is now working with Secondary Schools and Teachers in Suffolk, providing the same range of services.

Before working in recruitment, Alan spent 10 years working in the Health and Fitness industry. He started out working as a Personal Trainer, a position which he held for many years before moving into Health Club sales and Health Club management.

Whilst in this role, Alan learnt the importance of understanding customer needs and requirements – something he now considers paramount when working in recruitment. This allows him to understand exactly what his clients need and what his candidates are looking for.

Alan has added:

“During my time working for a competitor, I had always heard of 4myschools and heard about the service they provide along with their ‘giving back’ ethos. This had always interested me and now I work for the company it is something I very proud to be a part of”

“With the giving back we do as a business, I enjoy being able to contribute to teaching and learning in our community and to third world countries, where people really need a helping hand. I like being part of a company that thinks about more than just profit”

“I always work hard to try and deliver the best service I possibly can and I enjoy establishing strong relationships with clients and candidates, so I have a true understanding of what they are looking for”

Why teach in Suffolk?

Suffolk has been put into the spotlight with one of the UK’s most successful musical artists, Ed Sheeran, openly praising his love for his home-town Suffolk and returning back to his roots to support music in his previous schools.

As well as boasting famous locals, Suffolk is also known as a family-friendly county with great access and transport links. Suffolk is easily linked to Essex, London and Norfolk and has a quick commute from Ipswich into London Liverpool Street. Furthermore, not only does it have great transport links, but Suffolk also has stunning beaches, farms to visit, outdoor ski resorts and a theme park, making it a hit with the many families who live here.

Suffolk has beautiful coastline, including Southwold and Lowestoft beach. Lowestoft beach also holds an annual Christmas swim for those who wish to dip in the sea before their Christmas dinner!

Schools in Suffolk have undertaken a fairly recent transformation, with the eradication of Middle Schools who catered for Key Stage 2 and 3 in 2007. Consequently, since this change, both Primary and Secondary schools have adapted, and Suffolk now boasts a wide variety of schools.

Schools in Suffolk range from small, one form entry, infant only schools to all-through schools with as many as 3 form entry in some year groups.

Suffolk schools are well supported, and this is shown in the most recent Ofsted data. There are 455 Primary Schools within a 25 mile radius of Stowmarket (in the center of Suffolk) and over 63% of these are graded as ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.*
