4myschools are looking for a 1to1 SEN Teaching Assistant for a year 5 pupil at a school in Hertford.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1to1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at our welcoming primary school in Hertford. This is a part-time role, working 5 mornings a week, with a termly rolling contract and an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities for a 1to1 SEN Teaching Assistant:
– Provide personalised 1to1 support for a Year 5 pupil with SEN, helping them to engage fully in classroom activities.
– Implement tailored learning strategies to meet the pupil’s specific educational and emotional needs.
– Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the pupil’s individual education plan (IEP) is followed effectively.
– Foster a nurturing and supportive environment, promoting the pupil’s social, emotional, and academic development.
– Monitor and record progress, providing regular feedback to the teaching team and parents.
– To assist with any self-care needs of the child.
Requirements:
-NVQ 3 in Childcare (or equivalent) or experience of working with SEMH as a TA on a 1to1 basis is essential.
– Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the individual needs of the pupil.
-Applicants with specialist experience and / or qualifications in the areas of Autism and Speech, Language and Communication Needs provision would be welcomed.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents.
– An understanding of SEN teaching strategies and techniques.
– Flexibility and reliability, with a positive attitude towards working in a dynamic school environment.
