4myschools are looking for a SEND LSA Job Chelmsford Essex
We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND LSA Job Chelmsford Essex for an immediate start in a primary school located in Chelmsford. This full-time position involves providing one-on-one support to a pupil with Type 1 diabetes. Full training in diabetes management will be provided, so prior experience is not essential—just a proactive and attentive approach to learning and providing medical support as needed.
In addition to diabetes care, the successful candidate will support the pupil’s learning and social development. Ideally, you will have experience with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and be skilled in communication aids such as Makaton and PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System). However, we also welcome applications from those with a passion for SEND who are looking to expand their skills in this rewarding area.
Responsibilities:
– Provide daily support to a pupil with diabetes, ensuring regular monitoring and responding as required to their medical needs.
– Support the pupil’s learning in a way that is adapted to their needs, ensuring their inclusion in all class activities.
– Utilize tools like Makaton and PECS to enhance communication if necessary.
– Collaborate with class teachers and the SEND team to provide a consistent and supportive learning environment as a SEND LSA Job Chelmsford Essex
– Offer encouragement and positive reinforcement to support the pupil’s social and emotional development.
Requirements:
– Prior experience supporting SEND pupils is beneficial.
– Experience with ASD and/or knowledge of Makaton and PECS is highly desirable.
