About the Role:

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners who require additional support? Do you have the dedication and skills to engage and inspire students within an alternative provision setting? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

As a Learning Mentor, you will work with students in Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting their educational and personal development. Your role will be pivotal in helping students overcome barriers to learning, building their confidence, and enabling them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

– Provide one-on-one and small group mentoring to students, tailoring support to their individual needs.
– Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored educational programs.
– Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
– Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to ensure cohesive support for students.
– Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback and reports as required.
– Address behavioural, social, and emotional issues in a constructive and supportive manner.
– Encourage and motivate students to engage fully in their education.

Requirements:

– Experience working with young people, preferably in an educational or alternative provision setting.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and external partners.
– Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
– A relevant qualification in education, youth work, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
– A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

– Able to work between 9am to 5pm
