About the Role:
We are delighted to be supporting a highly-regarded secondary school in Chelmsford with their search for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join their team for the new academic year, starting in September 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced English Teacher or an enthusiastic Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to take the next step in their career. You will be teaching English across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, inspiring students to explore the past and develop critical thinking skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
Foster a love for English and encourage academic excellence in your students.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
Work collaboratively with the Humanities department to develop and enhance the curriculum.
Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and events.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
A degree in English or a related subject.
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching.
The ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Experience teaching English to Key Stage 3 and 4 is essential; experience with Key Stage 5 is desirable.
