Food Technology Teacher Castle Point District Essex – We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to start in September. This position is initially offered on a temporary basis for one term, but for the right candidate, there is potential for it to evolve into a permanent role.
Responsibilities:
Teach Food Technology to Key Stage 3 and 4 students, delivering engaging and inspiring lessons.
Develop and deliver a comprehensive curriculum that covers a wide range of food-related topics and practical skills.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters students’ creativity, curiosity, and independence.
Assess and provide constructive feedback on students’ progress, utilizing a variety of assessment methods.
Plan and organize practical sessions, ensuring adherence to health and safety guidelines.
Encourage students to develop a deep understanding of food technology principles and their applications in real-life contexts.
Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development and enhancement of the Food Technology department.
Requirements:
Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience teaching Food Technology at Key Stage 3 and 4, including practical sessions.
A comprehensive understanding of the national curriculum and the ability to design engaging lesson plans.
Strong subject knowledge in food technology, including nutrition, food preparation, and food safety.
Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel motivated and supported.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents.
Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in food technology.
A proactive and flexible approach to teaching, with a strong dedication to the academic and personal development of students.
