About the Role:
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical lessons, guiding students through the exciting world of food technology. Your role will include teaching key concepts around nutrition, food preparation, cooking techniques, and sustainability. You’ll inspire students with your passion for food, while helping them develop both practical and theoretical skills for the future.
Responsibilities as a Food Technology Teacher:
- Plan and deliver high-quality food technology lessons to students
- Promote hands-on learning experiences, including cooking sessions and food-related projects
- Encourage creativity and innovation in the kitchen
- Provide support and feedback to students, helping them develop their culinary skills and knowledge
- Create a positive and engaging classroom environment
- Maintain health and safety standards in the kitchen
- Assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback
Requirements:
- Has a strong background in the culinary industry (chefs, professional cooks, or those with equivalent experience)
- Is confident in sharing their knowledge and skills with young learners
- Ideally has some teaching experience or experience working with children (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, or training)
- Is passionate about education and eager to inspire students to achieve their best
- Has excellent communication and organizational skills
