Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Full-Time – Chelmsford – September Start

Salary: LGPS Scale 4 (dependent on experience)
Are you a confident and proactive HLTA with a passion for supporting children’s learning across the curriculum? Our partner primary school in Chelmsford is seeking a skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their dedicated team in September.
This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to make a real impact by providing PPA (Planning, Preparation and Assessment) cover across year groups. You’ll need to demonstrate experience in leading whole-class learning and have a calm, enthusiastic presence in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging lessons across the primary phase to cover teacher PPA time
Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Support and enhance student progress and behaviour management in line with school policies
Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure consistent learning experiences
Requirements:
HLTA qualification or relevant experience
Minimum Grade C/4 in GCSE Maths and English
Proven experience covering or teaching whole classes
A positive, enthusiastic and calm manner
Strong behaviour management skills with a solution-focused approach
Additional Information:
One-hour lunch break provided daily
Salary on Local Government Pay Scale 4, dependent on experience
