4myschools are looking for a KS2 Teacher Maternity Cover in Chelmsford.
We are currently looking for a KS2 Teacher for a maternity cover starting in September, full-time.
Role Overview:
The maternity cover is initially for a Year 5 class, although this is flexible depending on the successful candidate’s experience. This school has an extremely supportive SLT and are very organised in terms of planning and resources, using plans from previous years. PPA time is used to tweak these and print off resources, with no need to bring work home after school hours or on the weekend. This position is suitable for both experienced teachers or Early Careers Teachers. The successful candidate would start in September, but welcomed to visit end of July for a handover and to meet staff. This is a full-time position, but would consider part-time job shares. Key Responsibilities for a KS2 Teacher:
📚 Deliver engaging lessons across the KS2 curriculum
📈 Assess and track pupil progress through regular marking, feedback, and formal assessments
👩🏫 Create a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, inclusion, and enthusiasm for learning
🤝 Collaborate with colleagues, teaching assistants, and leadership to support student learning
🏫 Understanding behaviour and supporting emotional wellbeing known as Trauma Perceptive Practice
🎨 Support wider school life, including assemblies, trips, and enrichment activities
🔒 Safeguard and ensure the wellbeing of all students in line with school policies
Requirements:
🎓 Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
📘 Experience teaching within KS2
🧑🏫 Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students
🤝 Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a team
🔄 A flexible, proactive approach to teaching and adapting to different school environments
