An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Maths Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary setting in Wellingborough from September 2026. This temporary to permanent, full-time role is ideal for an experienced and highly effective Maths specialist who is passionate about driving excellence in teaching and learning. This position is suited to a talented practitioner with a proven track record of delivering outstanding outcomes and the ability to influence practice beyond their own classroom. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving teaching standards across the Maths department and wider school, using evidence-informed strategies, robust curriculum knowledge and a strong understanding of assessment and data to secure progress for all learners. A central focus of the role will be identifying gaps in learning and implementing impactful intervention strategies to ensure every student can succeed.

About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be committed  and comfortable working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher with significant experience in Maths education, who brings strong leadership capability and experience of coaching or mentoring colleagues to improve classroom practice. They will demonstrate excellent curriculum expertise, a deep understanding of pedagogy and the ability to use data effectively to inform decision-making. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, alongside the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families. This role would suit a driven, reflective and resilient professional who is committed to high expectations, inclusion and continuous improvement, with a genuine passion for ensuring all students, including those facing disadvantage, achieve their full potential within a supportive and high-performing school environment.
