4myschools are looking for a MFL Teacher to work at a school in Norwich, Norfolk.
We are seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages to join our high-performing, collegiate, and well-resourced MFL department from September 2025. This is a permanent, part-time role working three days per week (20.8 hours).
About the Role:
You will be teaching French up to GCSE, and the ability to offer German at KS3 is desirable, though not essential. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking and dynamic team where student engagement in languages is strong and outcomes consistently exceed national averages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in French up to GCSE, in line with the school curriculum and departmental schemes of work
- (If applicable) Teach German at Key Stage 3, ensuring engaging and accessible learning for all pupils
- Use a range of teaching strategies to promote a love of languages and develop students’ skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing
- Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress, using data to inform planning and support student achievement
- Contribute to the development and refinement of the MFL curriculum and teaching resources within the department
- Maintain a positive and purposeful learning environment that fosters student engagement and high expectations
- Support and contribute to the department’s enrichment activities, such as language trips, cultural events, and extracurricular clubs
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in a collegiate and supportive team, sharing best practices and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement
- Take part in relevant professional development and performance management processes
- Uphold the school’s values, policies, and safeguarding procedures at all times
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Specialism in French and German, with experience teaching both at secondary level
- Strong classroom management skills and a passion for language education
- Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
