4myschools are looking for a Physics Teacher to work at a school in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Physics Teacher to join our secondary school in Hitchin for a fixed-term position starting Easter 2025. This role will be for at least one term, with the possibility of extension based on performance and school needs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Physics, the ability to engage students, and a commitment to providing high-quality teaching.
Key Responsibilities for a Physics Teacher
- Deliver engaging and effective Physics lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5).
- Plan, prepare, and implement lessons in accordance with the school’s curriculum and policies.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and guidance to support their development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and independent learning.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Science department and across the school.
- Maintain strong classroom management to ensure a productive and respectful learning environment.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong subject knowledge in Physics.
- Experience teaching Physics at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of various abilities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience teaching A-level Physics or the ability to do so in the future.
- A passion for inspiring students to pursue science-related careers.
- A commitment to continuous professional development.
