About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant in this role, you will support teachers in delivering high-quality education to children across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) through to Key Stage 2 (KS2). You will help to facilitate learning, promote positive behaviour, and ensure that each child receives the individual support they need to thrive in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities for a Teaching Assistant:
- Assist in delivering classroom activities under the guidance of the class teacher.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support for students, focusing on social, emotional, and academic development.
- Help children with special educational needs (SEN) to reach their full potential.
- Support students with behavioural challenges and encourage positive engagement in the classroom.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to monitor and support student progress.
Requirements:
Teaching Assistant
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their learning and development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- An understanding of child development, especially in terms of social, emotional, and cognitive needs.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Previous experience in a classroom or childcare setting.
