Are you a qualified teacher looking to take the next step in your career within a specialist SEND setting, where you can build on your experience and further develop your expertise? 4myschools is working in partnership with a well‑established specialist school near Ware, Hertfordshire, who are supporting children and young people with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This setting provides an excellent opportunity for teachers who are passionate about inclusive education and keen to develop their practice within a specialist environment. The school offers a structured and well‑resourced learning environment, with specialist classrooms and tailored teaching approaches that meet a wide range of needs. Learning is highly personalised, with a strong emphasis on communication, emotional regulation, independence and life skills, allowing teachers to focus on meaningful progress for every pupil. You will be part of a collaborative and supportive staff team, working closely with experienced support staff, therapists and senior leaders who value professional development and reflective practice. The school promotes strong staff‑pupil relationships and provides the time and support for teachers to refine specialist strategies and deepen SEND knowledge.

The ideal candidate

The successful candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification Have experience teaching within primary, secondary or special education settings Demonstrate a strong interest in, or experience of, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Be committed to inclusive, pupil‑centred teaching practices Adapt teaching approaches to support individual learning, communication and sensory needs Work effectively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team Have a secure understanding of safeguarding and professional responsibilities Demonstrate flexibility, resilience and a reflective approach to teaching and learning Desirable Criteria Experience teaching pupils with complex needs, including ASD, SLD or PMLD Knowledge of or interest in alternative communication strategies or therapeutic approaches A desire to pursue further SEND‑specific training and professional development.
