We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Reception Teaching Assistant to join our primary school in Hemel Hempstead on a full-time, ongoing basis with an immediate start. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young children in their early learning journey and wants to make a real difference in a vibrant and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities for a Reception Teaching Assistant:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons to Reception-aged children.
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to students, helping them to develop key skills.
- Assist with classroom organisation, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
- Help with the planning and preparation of teaching resources and materials.
- Support children with their social and emotional development.
- Assist with observations and assessments of students’ progress.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to support the wider school community.
Requirements:
- Experience working with young children, ideally in an educational setting.
- A passion for supporting children in their early years of learning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Patient, flexible, and committed to helping all children succeed.
- A relevant qualification such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN).
