We are seeking a dynamic and inspiring Science Teacher to join our dedicated and supportive teaching team at a college in Dereham, Norfolk. This is a full-time, permanent position, starting in September 2025, offering an exciting opportunity to shape the scientific minds of the future in a well-resourced and forward-thinking college environment.
Salary: £31,650- £49,084
Key Responsibilities for a Science Teacher:
- Deliver engaging and challenging science lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5 (GCSE, A-Level or equivalent), in line with curriculum standards
- Plan, prepare and assess lessons and coursework effectively to meet the diverse needs of learners
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support academic development
- Foster a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
- Contribute to curriculum development and participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives
- Take part in open evenings, parent consultations, and professional development opportunities
- Support students with academic and pastoral care as part of the wider college community
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- A degree in a relevant science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or related field)
- Experience teaching science at GCSE and/or A-Level (or equivalent)
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- A passion for science and a commitment to high-quality teaching and learning
- Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities
- Willingness to participate in continuous professional development
