4myschools are looking for a Science Teacher (Biology, Chemistry or Physics Specialism) to work at a secondary school in Stevenage, Herts.
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Science Teacher with a specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Stevenage. This is a full-time, one-year contract starting in September 2025, with the potential to become a permanent role.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ECT or an experienced teacher looking to join a well-resourced science department committed to delivering high-quality science education up to Key Stage 5.
Key Responsibilities for a Science Teacher (Biology, Chemistry or Physics Specialism) :
- Teach Science across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 in your specialist subject.
- Plan and deliver dynamic, engaging lessons that foster curiosity and critical thinking.
- Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform teaching.
- Contribute to the continued development of the science curriculum and department initiatives.
- Support students of all abilities to achieve their full potential.
- Participate in school events, CPD opportunities, and extracurricular science activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the department and wider school.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it (PGCE, School Direct, etc.).
- A degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related science field.
- Strong subject knowledge and a clear passion for science education.
- Ability to teach your specialism confidently up to A-Level (KS5).
- Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
- A commitment to inclusive teaching and high expectations for all learners.
