Job Responsibilities for Science Teacher Jobs Ipswich:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Physics lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5.
  • Inspire students to explore scientific concepts and develop critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrate real-world applications of Physics, particularly in engineering and technology.
  • Differentiate instruction to support the learning needs of all students, including those with SEND.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and a love for science.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and participate in departmental planning and meetings.
  • Support and promote STEM activities and extracurricular science clubs or projects.
  • Uphold school policies and contribute to the broader life of the school community.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Science or a related science subject.
  • Experience teaching Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the secondary level, KS3-4
  • Strong subject knowledge and a clear understanding of the national curriculum for science and Physics.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A passion for science and a commitment to fostering scientific curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Competence in using technology and practical resources to enhance learning.
  • Willingness to contribute to departmental activities, school initiatives, and extracurricular STEM opportunities.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and safeguarding practices (training can be provided if not already held).
