• Location: Colchester, Essex
• Contract Type: Temporary or Permanent (to be discussed)
• Working Hours: 37 hours per week, term time only plus 5 non-pupil days (39 weeks per year)
• Salary: Scale 3, Point 4. Actual Salary – £16,441 per annum
• Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, efficient, and organised individual with a ‘can do’ attitude to join our committed staff as a Science Technician. The successful candidate will support the preparation of materials and equipment for science lessons and maintain the science laboratories, preparation rooms, and equipment in good order. Previous experience working in a science laboratory and/or knowledge of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics is desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of materials and equipment for science lessons.
• Maintain the science laboratories, preparation rooms, and equipment to ensure they are in good order.
• Support teaching staff in delivering practical science lessons.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the science department.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a science laboratory and/or knowledge of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics is desirable.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A proactive and positive approach to work.
