Job Responsibilities for Secondary ECT Jobs Felixstowe:
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across your specialist subject at Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 opportunities may be available depending on the school).
- Inspire students to explore your subject area, developing their understanding, curiosity, and core skills.
- Differentiate instruction to support the diverse learning needs of all students, including those with SEND and EAL.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment that promotes respect, motivation, and a love for learning.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress using a range of assessment methods.
- Participate in curriculum development and contribute to departmental planning and team meetings.
- Support wider school life through involvement in assemblies, school events, clubs, or subject-specific enrichment activities.
- Embrace opportunities for professional development and engage fully with the ECT induction and mentoring programme.
- Uphold school policies and maintain a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in your specialist subject.
- Experience gained during ITT placements, ideally at the secondary level (KS3–KS4).
- Strong subject knowledge and a clear understanding of the national curriculum in your area of expertise.
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that support the progress of all learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to inspiring young people in your subject.
- Confidence in using a variety of teaching tools, including technology and interactive resources.
- Willingness to contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular clubs, activities, and events.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, with enthusiasm to learn and grow during your ECT induction.
- A strong understanding of, or willingness to train in, safeguarding and child protection procedures.
