Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young learners? Our specialist education recruitment agency is working with a well-resourced Primary School in Thurrock, seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team this September 2025.
This rewarding position involves 1:1 support for an Early Years child with Autism, working as part of a collaborative and caring team in a purpose-built Autistic Base. You’ll be supporting the pupil through a rich programme of sensory integration, active learning, and structured play.
🧠 The Role:
1:1 Learning Support Assistant for a child in Early Years diagnosed with Autism
Working closely with experienced staff in a specialist autism base
Delivering sensory-based activities and supporting communication and social development
Helping to implement individual education plans (IEPs)
Supporting the child to access both structured and play-based learning throughout the school day
🧩 Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children with Autism or in a SEN setting (Early Years experience desirable)
Calm, patient, and proactive with excellent communication skills
Understanding of sensory processing needs and autism spectrum conditions
Team player who thrives in a supportive and collaborative environment
Willing to commit long-term with a view to a permanent role
📍 Location:
Thurrock – easily accessible by public transport and car
💼 Contract Type:
Temporary to Permanent – starting September 2025
