New vacancy! SEND 1:1 Learning Support Assistant – Haverhill

This is a Primary School job.

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and ready for a rewarding 1:1 role this summer term? 4myschools are recruiting a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a warm, nurturing primary school in Haverhill. The school is known for its inclusive ethos, caring staff team, and strong sense of community. With a child-centred approach, the setting provides a calm, structured learning environment enhanced by engaging outdoor spaces, sensory opportunities, and a curriculum designed to meet diverse learning needs. As a 1:1 LSA, you will be joining a supportive team of professionals committed to helping every child thrive. This role will involve working closely with a young girl who has a diagnosis of Autism and Global Development Delay. Her communication is mainly non-verbal, relying on gestures and objects of reference, and she requires an adult who can tune into her cues, encourage engagement, and model supportive communication strategies. She is happy and settled in school, and find enjoyment in alot of activities including puzzles, music, sensory play and exploring the world around her. Due to a diagnosis of PICA, constant adult vigilance and close supervision are essential to ensure her safety. You will play a key role in implementing structured routines, supporting her focus and attention, preparing sensory-based learning activities, and liaising with colleagues and other professionals to help her make progress. Your work will directly contribute to her learning, wellbeing and enjoyment of school.
