4myschools are recruiting for a teacher to join our team of supply SEND teachers and provide cover for a specialist setting that caters for pupils across year groups 5 to 11. The school has been open for a few years now and is situated in a purpose built building and is well resourced for its staff and pupils benefit. The primary need that the school caters for is communication and emotional regulation and they provide a broad curriculum to encourage engagement. This is a mixture of traditional curriculum subjects and interventions, all with a view of promoting positive mental health and wellbeing and reaching their academic potential. We are looking for a qualified teacher to join their team to provide exceptional learning activities adapted to meet the needs of the students and work closely with teaching and learning assistants, and other professionals for ‘whole child’ development.
- Contract Duration: Flexible: daily and long-term supply opportunities
- Contract Type: Supply 8:30-3:30
- Age groups: Key Stage 3
The Ideal Candidate
To be successfully appointed for this role you will need to have: QTS Previous experience of supporting individuals with SEND. All experience considered. This can be from mainstream or SEND schools, Alternative provisions, or volunteering and other sectors. Observational skills Knowledge of a range of strategies to adapt learning activities, manage behaviours and expectations, and rapport building A versatile approach to teaching Have an Enhanced, Child workforce, Disclosure, or be prepared to pay for one..
