4myschools are looking for a Year 2 Teacher to work at a school in Ware, Hertfordshire. This is to cover a maternity leave with a September 2025 start for at least one year.
We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join our friendly and supportive primary school in Ware from September 2025. This is a full-time maternity cover position for one academic year, offering the opportunity to work in a welcoming and well-resourced Key Stage 1 setting.
Key Responsibilities for a Year 2 Teacher
- Plan and deliver creative, engaging, and well-structured lessons aligned with the KS1 national curriculum.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that supports all pupils to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Track and assess pupil progress using formative and summative assessment methods.
- Work effectively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to support children’s learning.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including school events and extra-curricular activities.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning, and safeguarding.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally in Year 2.
- Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
- A positive, flexible, and team-oriented approach.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all pupils.
