We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Year 6 Teacher to join our vibrant school in Borehamwood. This fixed-term position will run from January 2025 to July 2025, offering you a chance to make a significant impact in the final stages of primary education for our students.
Key Responsibilities for a Year 6 Teacher:
- Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons to Year 6 students that prepare them for their SATs and transition to secondary school.
- Plan and implement a curriculum that challenges and inspires children to achieve their full potential.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing regular feedback and support to ensure academic success.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and motivated.
- Work collaboratively with the Year 6 team and wider school staff to share best practices and contribute to school improvement initiatives.
- Maintain strong communication with parents and guardians, ensuring they are kept informed of their child’s progress and school events.
Requirements:
- Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and have experience teaching Year 6 or upper primary age groups.
- Have a strong understanding of the Year 6 curriculum, including SATs preparation.
- Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills and a passion for supporting the academic and emotional development of children.
- Be a reflective practitioner with a positive and proactive approach to teaching.
- Have strong communication skills, and be able to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Show a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
