If you are a supply teacher you know you are going to be asked to leave the house with little notice for last minute assignments. Schools ring us from 6.30am to 9.00am asking for support for the same day. After 9.00am requests from schools are usually for the following day of for a half day afternoon assignment. We will not typically call you before 7.00am so you are not disturbed too early in the morning.
If you are planning to take ad hoc assignments we recommend that you are ready fully dressed with your mobile resources and formal ID, DBS etc to hand to leave at 7.30am – clearly this depends on how far you are willing to travel to any specific school, the mode of transport you will take and how early you want to arrive for that good impression.
