4myschools are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Essex, supporting pupils across the Key Stage 1 classrooms. The successful candidate will work across Year 1 and Year 2 classes, providing targeted support to pupils both individually and in small groups, helping children access the curriculum and develop confidence within the classroom. Working closely with class teachers and the SEND team, you will assist with delivering learning activities, supporting literacy and numeracy interventions, monitoring pupil progress, encouraging positive behaviour and helping to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment. You may also be required to support children with additional needs, adapting learning resources and implementing strategies to ensure all pupils can participate fully in school life.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and comfortable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

We are seeking a dedicated, patient and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant who has previous experience working within a primary school setting, ideally supporting Key Stage 1 pupils. Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs or social, emotional and mental health needs, would be highly advantageous. Applicants must hold a minimum of Grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE Maths and English and have a good understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum. The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator, able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents, and demonstrate a flexible and proactive approach to supporting teaching and learning. Due to the location of the school and the need for reliable attendance, access to your own transport is desirable. Candidates must be available to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm during term time.
