This is a Secondary School job.
A high-performing and well-regarded secondary school in the Brentwood area is seeking an ambitious and experienced Teacher of PE to take on the role of Head of Physical Education, starting in April or September 2026. This is a permanent leadership position with responsibility for leading a successful and well-established PE department. You’ll teach PE across KS3, KS4 and post-16, while driving high standards in both curriculum and extracurricular provision. The ability to teach an additional subject would be an advantage but is not essential. You’ll be joining a positive, collaborative school with a strong emphasis on staff development, wellbeing and student achievement. The ideal candidate
You’ll be an outstanding and motivated PE Teacher, either ready to step into your first middle leadership role or already working as a Head of Department. You’ll have strong subject knowledge, confident classroom practice and the ability to inspire both students and colleagues. You’ll be organised, enthusiastic and committed to developing a high-quality PE provision, with a passion for promoting participation, excellence and pupil wellbeing. A strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and professional development is essential.
