4myschools are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Chelmsford area for a dedicated KS1 Teacher to join their team on a full-time maternity cover basis from January 2027. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed teacher who is passionate about inspiring young learners during these vital early years of education. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a Key Stage 1 class, delivering engaging and creative lessons that promote high standards of learning and achievement. Duties will include planning and delivering lessons in line with the National Curriculum, assessing pupil progress, marking work, maintaining accurate records, attending staff meetings, participating in parents’ evenings, preparing learning resources, managing classroom behaviour effectively and creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive. About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be proactive  and comfortable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have recent experience teaching within Key Stage 1. Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and confident ECTs with strong curriculum knowledge and a genuine passion for primary education. Candidates should possess excellent classroom management skills, strong organisational abilities and the confidence to undertake full classroom responsibilities throughout the duration of the maternity cover. A minimum of Grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE English and Maths is essential. Due to the location of the school and the requirements of the role, applicants should have access to reliable transport or be able to travel consistently to Chelmsford each day. The successful teacher will be available full-time from January 2027 and commit to the one-year placement, becoming an integral part of the school community.
