Current opening! Primary Teaching Assistant – Diss
At 4myschools, we are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants to support a variety of welcoming and inclusive primary schools across the Diss area. Whether you are looking for the flexibility of daily supply work or the consistency of a long-term placement, we have opportunities available to suit your availability and career goals. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, aspiring educators, graduates, or individuals with experience supporting children and young people who are passionate about making a positive impact within primary education. As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils’ learning and development across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Responsibilities may include assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery, supporting individual pupils and small groups, helping children develop confidence in core subjects such as English and Mathematics, preparing classroom resources, monitoring pupil progress, and promoting positive behaviour. You may also provide additional support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them access learning, develop social skills, and achieve their individual targets. Every day brings new experiences, making this a rewarding and varied role within a supportive school environment. One of the key benefits of working on supply is the flexibility it offers. Supply work allows you to gain experience across different year groups and school settings, develop a broad range of skills, build your professional network, and achieve a better work-life balance. It can also be an excellent pathway into long-term and permanent positions while allowing you to find the schools and environments that best suit your strengths and career aspirations.
- Contract duration: Supply Teacher, Temporary (Short Term), Temporary (Long Term)
- Contract type: FULL_TIME, PART_TIME – Hours: 08:30-3.:30
- Age groups: Primary School
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate should be motivated and capable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.
The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for working with children and supporting their educational journey. Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Nursery Practitioner, Youth Worker, Care Worker, or supporting children in another capacity would be advantageous, although transferable skills and a positive attitude are equally valued. Candidates should possess a minimum of GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above, have strong communication skills, and be able to work effectively as part of a team. Experience supporting children with SEND, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or social, emotional and mental health needs would be highly desirable. Due to the nature of supply work and travelling between schools across the Diss area, applicants should ideally have access to their own transport and be available to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm, term time only. If you are looking for a rewarding opportunity to support local primary schools while enjoying flexibility and variety in your role, we would love to hear from you. Apply today with 4myschools and take the next step in your education career.
