4myschools are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Basildon area for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone with relevant education, childcare, curriculum knowledge, or Special Educational Needs (SEN) experience who is passionate about helping children achieve their full potential. The school prides itself on creating a nurturing environment where every child is valued, encouraged, and supported to become confident, independent learners. You will work closely with class teachers and other support staff to provide high-quality classroom assistance, helping to deliver engaging learning experiences and supporting pupils academically, socially, and emotionally. In this role, you will support learning activities across the curriculum, assist with classroom preparation and organisation, deliver intervention sessions to small groups and individual pupils, and provide targeted support for children with additional needs where required. You will help to promote positive behaviour, encourage pupil participation, monitor progress, and contribute to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment. The successful candidate will play an important part in supporting pupils to develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning while ensuring every child can access the curriculum effectively.

About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be committed  and confident working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of Grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE English and Maths and have previous experience working within a school, childcare, youth work, tutoring, or educational support setting. Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, or learning difficulties, would be highly advantageous. You will possess excellent communication skills, a patient and adaptable approach, and a genuine passion for supporting children’s educational development. The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents is essential. Candidates should be available to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, term time only, and ideally have access to their own transport or be able to travel reliably to the Basildon area.
