In this role, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils across the primary age range, helping to deliver engaging lessons and ensuring all children have the opportunity to succeed. Your responsibilities will include supporting whole-class learning, leading small group interventions, providing one-to-one support where required, assisting with literacy and numeracy development, preparing classroom resources, monitoring pupil progress, and helping to maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment. You may also provide additional support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them access the curriculum and achieve their individual learning goals. Every day will bring variety, challenge, and the opportunity to make a genuine difference to young learners.

About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be proactive  and confident working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Classroom Assistant, or within a similar educational support role. We are also keen to hear from applicants who have a strong understanding of the primary curriculum or experience supporting children with additional learning needs. A minimum of GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths is essential. You should possess excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a genuine passion for supporting children’s educational development. Applicants must hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check and be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Due to the location of the school, access to reliable transport is desirable to ensure consistent attendance throughout the assignment.
