4myschools are delighted to be recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Year 1 Class Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in the Little Waltham area on a job share basis, working Monday to Wednesday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, from 8th October 2026 until June 2027. The successful teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging Year 1 lessons, assessing pupil progress, creating an inspiring classroom environment and working collaboratively with colleagues, parents and support staff to ensure excellent outcomes for all learners. There is excellent in-class support available with 1.5 Learning Support Assistants assigned to the class, allowing the successful candidate to focus on delivering high-quality teaching whilst ensuring individual pupil needs are effectively supported. The role will include maintaining high expectations for behaviour, differentiating learning where required and contributing positively to the wider school community. About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and capable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic teacher with experience teaching within Key Stage 1, particularly Year 1, although strong ECTs with relevant placement experience will also be considered. Applicants should hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have a minimum of Grade 4 (C) GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths. The ideal candidate will have excellent curriculum knowledge, strong behaviour management skills and a genuine passion for helping children develop confidence and independence as they transition through Key Stage 1. Experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs would be advantageous given the inclusive nature of the school, although not essential. Due to the school’s village location, applicants should ideally have access to their own transport or be able to commute reliably. The successful candidate must be available to work Monday to Wednesday from 8th October 2026 until June 2027 and will be committed to becoming an active and positive member of the school team.
