We’re looking for enthusiastic, dedicated individuals to join our team of flexible workers supporting Alternative Provisions in Bury St Edmunds, working with learners aged 5–18. One of the settings we support delivers practical, workshop‑based activities, while the other focuses on core curriculum subjects, breaking them down into bitesize, engaging tasks delivered to small groups of children. About the Role In this rewarding role, you will: Deliver engaging sessions that support mentoring, personal development, and practical learning. Work with young people in small groups or 1:1, adapting activities to meet individual needs. Create a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment for learners who may not thrive in mainstream education. Use your own specialist skills to enrich learning—whether in cooking, gardening, woodwork, or other creative, practical subjects.

The ideal candidate

We welcome candidates who: Hold a degree and additional qualifications that extend learning beyond the classroom. Have experience working with young people, or a genuine desire to make a difference in a youth-focused setting. Are confident delivering structured activities and building strong mentoring relationships. Have a valid Child Workforce DBS (or are willing to obtain one).
