New opportunity! Design and Technology Teacher – Norwich

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled full‑time Secondary Teacher of Resistant Materials, Design & Technology and Construction to join our Norwich school from September. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, practical lessons across KS3 and KS4, covering workshop‑based Resistant Materials, creative and technical D&T, and introductory Construction skills, while promoting safe, high‑quality learning in a well‑resourced environment. We are looking for a qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) or an experienced instructor with strong practical expertise, the ability to inspire students of all abilities, and a commitment to contributing to a supportive, forward‑thinking department. The ideal candidate should be motivated  and capable working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

he ideal candidate for this role is someone who blends strong practical expertise with the ability to inspire confidence and creativity in a workshop environment. They are a teacher who is genuinely passionate about hands‑on learning, comfortable teaching across Resistant Materials, D&T and introductory Construction, and confident managing a busy, well‑equipped workshop safely and effectively. They bring solid technical skills in wood, metal and plastics, understand the design process from concept to prototype, and can introduce students to the fundamentals of the construction industry in an engaging, accessible way. They are either a qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) or an experienced instructor with real‑world industry experience, and they enjoy helping students see the link between practical skills and future careers. Above all, they are patient, organised, proactive, and able to build positive relationships with students who thrive when learning by doing.
