Current opening! Computing Teacher – Peterborough

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Computing Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Peterborough from September. This is a full-time position for one term initially, with the opportunity to make an immediate impact within a supportive and well-established department. The successful candidate will teach GCSE and A Level Computing, delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and understanding of computer science. This secondary school offers a positive and inclusive learning environment where high expectations are balanced with strong pastoral support. Staff work collaboratively to provide students with engaging learning experiences and opportunities to achieve their full potential. The Computing department plays an important role in preparing students for further study and future careers in technology-related fields.You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality Computing lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5, monitoring progress, and supporting students to achieve strong outcomes. The role would suit a teacher who is passionate about their subject and able to inspire learners of differing abilities.

  • Contract type: FULL_TIME – Hours: 8:30 – 3:30

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and comfortable working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

he successful candidate will: Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Have strong subject knowledge in Computing and Computer Science. Be confident teaching GCSE Computing, with the ability to teach A Level. Create engaging and challenging lessons that encourage student participation and achievement. Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills. Be committed to supporting student progress and attainment.

Essential requirements

Relevant experience or qualifications in education or childcare (desirable). 
Dedication to safeguarding children. 
Experience teaching programming and computer science concepts is desirable. 
Ability to quickly integrate into an established department.
