About The Job
This is a SEN School job.
Contract Duration: Supply
Contract Type: Supply - Hours:
Age groups: Primary School
We are working with a primary primary SEND school who are seeking a committed and compassionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their dedicated team. The school caters for children who have a range of complex needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Many of our pupils express themselves through behaviour, and this is viewed as an important form of communication. The approach is nurturing, patient and supportive, and their aim is always to understand what each child is trying to tell them. The school offers a highly supportive environment with small class sizes and an experienced team of staff available across the site. This allows them to create a calm, structured and individually tailored learning experience for every pupil. Each child at the school has their own individual learning plan, and all lessons are adapted to reflect their specific needs, interests and development goals. Progress is captured through documented photographs and videos, enabling staff to celebrate achievements in a way that truly reflects each child’s journey.

The role requires someone who can build strong, positive relationships with pupils, maintain a calm and supportive presence, and work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure every pupil is engaged and able to access learning. We welcome applications from individuals who are resilient, caring and passionate about supporting children with additional needs. Experience within SEND or SEMH settings is desirable, but above all we are looking for someone who is committed to helping our pupils feel understood, valued and successful. If you believe you can make a positive difference in our school community, we would be delighted to hear from you.
