As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the wider school team to support pupils across the primary age range. Your responsibilities will include providing one-to-one and small group support, assisting with the delivery of engaging learning activities, helping pupils to develop confidence and independence, and adapting resources to meet individual learning needs. You may also support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including those with communication, social, emotional and behavioural needs, ensuring they can fully access the curriculum and participate in school life. The successful candidate will play an important role in promoting positive behaviour, encouraging pupil wellbeing, monitoring progress and contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment. Experience supporting interventions in literacy, numeracy or SEND-related programmes would be highly beneficial.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate should be committed  and confident working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant or within a similar educational support role. Applications are also welcomed from candidates who have relevant experience supporting children with SEND or those who have a strong understanding of the primary curriculum. You should possess a minimum of Grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE English and Maths, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be confident building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents. A patient, adaptable and proactive approach is essential, along with a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development. Due to the location of the school and the working hours, access to reliable transport is advantageous. Candidates must be available to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, term time only, and be committed to maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding and child welfare throughout the duration of the placement.
