4myschools are looking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive primary school team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Care Worker, Youth Worker, Nursery Practitioner or someone with strong educational knowledge and a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development. The school is committed to providing a nurturing, engaging and inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally. In this rewarding role, you will work alongside class teachers and SEND professionals to support pupils both within the classroom and through targeted interventions. Responsibilities will include assisting pupils with their learning activities, promoting engagement and positive behaviour, supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), adapting learning resources where required, encouraging confidence and independence, assisting with personal care if required, supervising playtimes and supporting the overall wellbeing of pupils. You may work on a one-to-one basis with individual pupils or provide support to small groups across different year groups, helping to create a positive and productive learning environment for all children.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate should be motivated  and comfortable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working with primary-aged children in an educational, childcare, care, youth work or support setting. Applications are welcome from candidates with experience supporting children with SEND including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH needs or learning difficulties. A sound understanding of the primary curriculum would be beneficial, alongside excellent communication skills, patience, adaptability and a positive attitude. Candidates must hold a minimum of GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent qualifications). The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents is essential. Due to the location of some schools, access to reliable transport is desirable. Applicants must be available to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm during term time and be committed to providing consistent support throughout the duration of the placement.
