New vacancy! Nursery Nurse (Level 3 Preferred) – Ipswich

At 4myschools, we are seeking enthusiastic, nurturing and dedicated Nursery Nurses to support children within an established and highly regarded primary school setting in Suffolk. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Nursery Nurses, Early Years Practitioners and childcare professionals looking for flexible work that fits around other commitments while continuing to make a meaningful difference to children’s development. Working on a flexible basis from 1 to 5 days per week, you will support pupils within a thriving Early Years environment that has been recognised for its strong provision and commitment to helping children achieve their full potential. The school serves a diverse community and prides itself on creating a welcoming, inclusive and values-led environment where children’s academic progress, personal development and wellbeing are equally important. Staff are committed to fostering communication, creativity, curiosity and confidence, helping children develop the skills they need for future success. As a Nursery Nurse, you will play a key role in supporting children’s learning through play, delivering engaging activities, encouraging positive social interactions and helping to create a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment. You will work closely with teachers and other Early Years professionals to support daily classroom routines, promote children’s emotional wellbeing and contribute to their overall development. Responsibilities may include assisting with phonics, early literacy and numeracy activities, preparing learning resources, observing and recording progress, supporting children’s independence and ensuring all pupils remain engaged and motivated throughout the school day. The school has a strong reputation for positive behaviour, effective pastoral support and an ambitious curriculum. An inclusive approach sits at the heart of everything it does, with staff working collaboratively with families and external professionals to ensure every child receives the support they need. As part of a successful multi-academy trust, staff benefit from a collaborative culture, shared expertise and ongoing professional development opportunities.

About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be proactive  and confident working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who hold a Level 3 Childcare, Early Years Educator or equivalent qualification, although experienced Nursery Nurses and childcare professionals with relevant transferable skills are also encouraged to apply. Previous experience working within a nursery, pre-school, school nursery, childcare setting or Early Years environment is highly desirable. To be successful in this role, you will need strong communication skills, patience, creativity, adaptability and a genuine passion for supporting young children during this important stage of their development. Applicants must hold a minimum of GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 (C) or above. Experience supporting children with a range of learning, communication and developmental needs would be advantageous. A full UK driving licence and access to transport would be beneficial as additional flexible opportunities may be available within other local schools. However, the school is well connected via local road and bus networks, making it accessible for candidates using public transport. If you are looking for rewarding, flexible and term-time only work within a supportive and welcoming Early Years setting, we would love to hear from you.
