We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Chelmsford seeking a passionate Level 2 Practitioner who is eager to broaden their experience across both Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their classroom skills within a nurturing primary school environment where children are encouraged to grow in confidence, curiosity and independence. Working alongside experienced teachers and support staff, you will play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning, development and wellbeing. Your responsibilities will include assisting with the delivery of engaging lessons and activities, supporting children’s literacy and numeracy development, encouraging positive behaviour, preparing classroom resources, monitoring pupil progress, and providing tailored support to individuals and small groups. The successful candidate may also support children with additional learning needs, helping to ensure every child can access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. This role offers valuable hands-on experience across both EYFS and KS1, making it ideal for those considering a future career in teaching or specialist educational support.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and capable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Level 2 Practitioner with a genuine passion for helping young children flourish. Applicants should hold a relevant Level 2 qualification in Childcare, Supporting Teaching and Learning, or a similar field, alongside a minimum of Grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE Maths and English. Previous experience working with primary-aged children, EYFS settings, nurseries, schools or childcare environments would be highly desirable, although we also welcome applications from candidates looking to build on their existing practitioner experience. Knowledge of the EYFS Framework, Key Stage 1 curriculum and/or supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) would be advantageous. The successful applicant should be reliable, flexible, able to build positive relationships with children and staff, and available to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm during term time. Due to the varied nature of school locations and potential future opportunities, access to your own transport is desirable.
