We are seeking overseas‑trained Languages teachers who are looking to gain UK classroom experience by working on supply across a range of schools. You will begin by delivering pre‑set work and covering a variety of lessons, including your specialist language. As you become more familiar with the UK curriculum and classroom expectations, successful candidates will progress to planning and delivering engaging Languages lessons that develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Your responsibilities will expand to include creating assignments, marking work, managing classroom behaviour, and supporting learners with diverse needs. You will also communicate with parents, collaborate with school staff, and participate in professional development to support students’ academic progress. You will use conversations, written tasks, projects, assessments, and interactive activities to check understanding and adapt your teaching to support students who need additional challenge or extra help.

The ideal candidate

We are looking for teachers who hold a teaching qualification from any of the following countries. The countries are Ghana, India, Jamaica, Nigeria, Singapore, and South Africa. If you qualified to teach in one of these countries but are not currently working in a valid teaching role in England, you may still be able to apply for QTS. In this case, you will need to provide evidence of a subject specialism in Mathematics, Science, or Languages, and demonstrate that you are qualified to teach learners aged 11–16. You must also meet the remaining QTS requirements. The right candidates must hold valid overseas police checks and a qualifying visa status, as we are not able to provide work visas and/or sponsorship.
