As a Secondary Supply Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across your subject specialism or providing general classroom cover where required. You will follow school policies and lesson plans, maintain high standards of teaching and learning, and create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages pupil achievement. A key aspect of this role is effective behaviour management, ensuring students remain focused, motivated, and engaged throughout lessons. You will work closely with experienced teaching and support staff, contributing to schools that pride themselves on strong teamwork, professional collaboration, and a commitment to student success. Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be committed  and capable working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The successful candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification, alongside a minimum of Grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE English and Maths. Applicants should have recent experience teaching within UK secondary schools and demonstrate strong behaviour management skills, excellent communication abilities, and the confidence to quickly build positive relationships with pupils and staff. We welcome applications from teachers across all subject specialisms, including experienced teachers and ECTs seeking to broaden their experience across different school settings. Candidates should be available to work 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday during term time, on either a full-time or part-time basis. Due to the variety of schools across Newmarket and the surrounding villages, access to reliable transport is highly desirable.
