Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant (TA), Learning Support Assistant (LSA), Support Worker, Care Assistant or someone with relevant transferable skills looking for rewarding, flexible work? We use both SEND Teaching Assistant and Learning Support Assistant (LSA) terminology as these are the most commonly searched job titles by candidates exploring opportunities within special educational needs education. This all-through specialist setting supports children and young people aged approximately 3 to 19 years with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), autism and a wide range of additional complex needs. The school delivers a highly personalised learning experience, supported by communication specialists, sensory provision and therapeutic input. A strong emphasis is placed on developing independence, personal growth and preparing young people for adulthood. The environment is calm, nurturing and inclusive, with values focused on respect, encouragement, care, achievement and enjoyment. Recent inspection findings highlighted the school’s positive culture, personalised learning approaches, effective behaviour support and commitment to staff development and wellbeing. As a SEND Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils throughout the school day. Responsibilities may include assisting learners within the classroom, providing one-to-one or small group support, helping to deliver personalised learning activities, encouraging communication and social development, supporting pupils with personal care where required, promoting positive behaviour strategies and helping to create an engaging and safe learning environment. Positions are available from 2 to 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, on a term-time only basis.

Candidate profile
The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and confident working with pupils in a SEN School setting.
We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, Care Assistant, Youth Worker or within another role supporting children, young people or adults with additional needs. However, applicants with transferable skills, relevant SEND knowledge, healthcare experience or educational support backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. A patient, adaptable and proactive approach is essential, alongside strong communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting learners with complex needs. Applicants must hold a minimum of GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent). Due to the location and nature of flexible supply work, access to reliable transport is highly desirable to maximise work opportunities and respond to both pre-booked and same-day assignments.
