Our client, a welcoming and community-focused primary school in Colchester, is seeking an enthusiastic Year 4 Teacher to join their team on a part-time supply basis. This role is available every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, offering an excellent opportunity for a dedicated teacher looking for greater flexibility while maintaining a rewarding classroom presence. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum, fostering a positive learning environment where pupils feel supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential. You will assess and monitor pupil progress, differentiate learning to meet individual needs, work collaboratively with teaching assistants and colleagues, and contribute to the school’s inclusive and nurturing ethos. Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and comfortable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have previous experience teaching within Key Stage 2, with Year 4 experience being particularly advantageous. You will have a strong understanding of the primary curriculum, excellent classroom management skills, and the ability to deliver engaging lessons that support pupils of varying abilities and learning needs. Applications are welcomed from experienced teachers and confident ECTs who are passionate about making a positive impact in the classroom. Candidates must hold a minimum of GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths and be available to work consistently on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays during term time. Due to the nature of supply work, access to your own transport is desirable to ensure reliable travel to and from the school.

Relevant experience or qualifications in education or childcare (desirable).

This is a part-time supply position working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, term time only 
An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) will be required 
The successful candidate will demonstrate a professional, adaptable and positive attitude, with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
