4myschools are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) on behalf of a welcoming and highly regarded primary school in South Woodham Ferrers, Essex. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. Your responsibilities will include delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher, leading targeted intervention groups, providing learning support for individuals and small groups, and contributing to the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress. You will work closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team to support pupils with a range of learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will help create an engaging and inclusive learning environment, promote positive behaviour, support pupil wellbeing, and contribute to the wider life of the school. This role would particularly suit candidates who have strong curriculum knowledge across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, experience delivering interventions, or a passion for supporting pupils with additional learning needs.

About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be committed  and confident working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

We are seeking a dedicated, flexible and confident HLTA who is passionate about improving outcomes for children. Applicants should hold a recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent experience within a primary school setting and possess a minimum of Grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE English and Maths. Previous experience of leading whole-class learning, delivering interventions and supporting pupils with SEND is highly desirable. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, a positive approach to behaviour management, and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents. Due to the location of the school and the working hours, access to reliable transport is advantageous. Candidates must be available to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, term time only, for the duration of the booking and be committed to maintaining high standards of safeguarding and child welfare.
