SEN experience is particularly welcome, and there are regular opportunities to support pupils with additional learning needs across different year groups. As a Daily Supply Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teachers and pupils throughout the school day. Your responsibilities may include assisting with classroom activities, working with small groups, providing one-to-one support, promoting positive behaviour, helping children remain engaged in lessons and contributing to a safe, inclusive learning environment. You may also support pupils with Special Educational Needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs, and other additional learning requirements. This varied role offers the opportunity to gain experience across multiple school settings while making a genuine difference to children’s educational journeys. The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be committed  and capable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The successful candidate will have experience working with children, either within a school setting or through transferable roles such as Health and Social Care, support work, youth work, sports coaching, nursery work, mentoring or voluntary positions. Previous Teaching Assistant experience is advantageous but not essential. Candidates must hold a minimum Grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent), possess strong communication skills and demonstrate a positive, proactive approach to supporting young people. Due to the nature of supply work, applicants must be available for a minimum of two full days per week and have access to reliable transport to travel to schools across Norwich and the surrounding areas. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is essential.
