Immediate opportunity! Flexible Level 3 Nursery Practitioner – EYFS (1–5 Days per Week) – Ipswich
4myschools are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive primary setting in Ipswich, seeking a flexible Level 3 Qualified Nursery Practitioner to join our bank team and provide planned absence cover within EYFS. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced early years professional who values autonomy and variety, as you will have full control over the days you accept—anything from 1 to 5 days per week, term-time only. The setting promotes a nurturing, child-centred approach with a strong emphasis on play-based learning, positive behaviour support, and creating a safe, inclusive environment where every child can thrive. You will work alongside a collaborative EYFS team, contributing to engaging activities aligned with the Early Years Framework and supporting children’s development across all areas of learning. In this role, your responsibilities will include delivering and supporting planned activities, observing and assessing children’s progress, contributing to learning journals, and maintaining a stimulating and well-organised environment. You will be expected to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents, support children’s personal, social and emotional development, and ensure safeguarding and welfare requirements are always met. Flexibility and adaptability will be key, as you may step into different groups or classrooms as required, maintaining continuity for pupils during staff absences.
- Contract duration: Temporary (Short Term)
- Contract type: PART_TIME – Hours: 08:30 – 3:30
- Age groups: Reception, Nursery, EYFS
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate should be proactive and comfortable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.
We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
The successful candidate will hold a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification and have recent experience working within an EYFS setting, ideally within a school or nursery environment. A strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development is essential, along with the ability to support a range of needs, including SEND where required. You should be reliable, professional, and confident in quickly integrating into new teams and routines. Availability from September for flexible, term-time work is required, with the ability to commit to assignments ranging from single-day cover to full-week placements. Access to your own transport is highly desirable due to the location and flexibility of assignments.
