A friendly and nurturing primary school in Thetford is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated KS1 Teacher to cover a full‑time maternity leave from September, offering a wonderful opportunity to support young learners at a crucial stage in their early education. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and confident working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate for this KS1 maternity‑cover role in Thetford is someone who brings warmth, patience, and a genuine love of early learning. They hold QTS, have solid experience teaching in Key Stage 1, and understand how to create a calm, nurturing classroom where young children feel safe, confident, and excited to learn. They’re skilled at delivering phonics, early maths, and foundational literacy in ways that are engaging, structured, and developmentally appropriate. They build strong, positive relationships quickly — essential for stepping into a maternity‑cover role — and they communicate clearly with families and colleagues. They’re organised, adaptable, and able to maintain continuity for the class while bringing their own creativity and enthusiasm. They manage behaviour with kindness and consistency, celebrate small successes, and support every child to make good progress both academically and emotionally.
