4myschools are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive specialist setting situated in a coastal community, well-regarded for its nurturing ethos and commitment to helping pupils with additional needs achieve their full potential. The setting places a strong emphasis on personalised learning, emotional wellbeing, and positive engagement, creating a safe and structured environment where every child is encouraged to thrive. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Outreach Worker to join their team from September, working 4 days per week, 9:00am–5:00pm. In this rewarding position, you will support pupils who require outreach provision, both within the school environment and, where necessary, in community or home-based settings. You will build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may face barriers to education, helping to re-engage them with learning and develop their confidence, emotional resilience, and behaviour regulation. Your responsibilities will include delivering targeted interventions, supporting reintegration into school, implementing individual support plans, and working collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN professionals, and external agencies. You will act as a consistent and reliable adult role model, ensuring pupils feel supported, understood, and motivated to succeed.

• Age groups: Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be motivated  and capable working with pupils in a SEN School setting.

The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working as an Outreach Worker, Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor, or in a similar role supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. A strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management strategies, and the ability to build rapport quickly is essential. You should be confident working independently as well as part of a wider multidisciplinary team. Availability to work 4 days per week, 9:00am–5:00pm from September is required. Due to the nature of outreach work, access to your own transport and willingness to travel locally is highly desirable. Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or youth work are advantageous; however, practical experience and a proactive, empathetic approach are equally valued.
